The BWP selection committee made a first selection and communicated which candidates stayed in the running for the rest of the selection procedure on Saturday, 22.

But Friday night also was a highlight in the whole event : during the BWP gala presentation, 12 stallions were honoured with the title of "Elite Stallion".Three sires fullfilled the conditions to become BWP Ambassador : Vivant van de Heffinck, Phin Phin and, of course, Vigo d'Arsouilles. In the jumping competitions for young stallions, the respective winners were : Gigolo van Paemel, Fidjy of Colors and Zorro.

After the last inspections on Saturday, the committee selected 29 stallions for the third phase, which is due to be held in Neeroeteren in March. Among those 29 remaining candidates, 18 are BWP born jumping stallions, 8 are non-BWP jumping candidates and 3 candidates have been selected for dressage.

The result of the  BWP Premium Stallion Auction was comparable to that of last year : an auction with realistic prices. Isaac van Orti (by Toulon), sold for 32.000 euro, and IQ du Marais (by For Pleasure), sold for 30.000 euro, got the highest bids. Twelve stallions were auctioned and the average selling price was 15.333 euro.
